The picture is of Black-headed Caiques. They scientific name is Pionites Melanocephala. Caique's are known as the "clowns" of the bird world. Caiques are very playful and have a cute little hop that is just adorable. Caiques are extremely smart and inquisitive little birds. They need to have a good sized cage with lots, and I do mean lots of toys. It is a good idea to move the toys around from time to time so they do not become bored.
Caiques, like all parrots, are able to learn to talk if you work with them. Caiques love to whistle and do sounds.
The Black-headed Caique has an irridesant green body. They have a jet black head with an orange band between the head and body. Black-headed Caiques' orange legs makes them look like they have on britches. The Black-headed Caique's belly is a yellowish beige color and they have a dark beak and feet. Black-headed are about 9 inches in length and have a life span of about 25 years.

Senegal parrots are intelligent and highly trainable birds. Hand-fed Senegal parrots make extremely good pets. They are medium-sized parrots about 10 inches in length measuring from their beak to the tip of the tail. Senegal parrots come from the woodlands of Western Africa and their lifespan stretches up to 50 years. The mature Senegal parrots have grey heads with green wings and chests. They have a V-shaped patch of color ranging from yellow and orange to red on their bellies. A Senegals' balance diet would be a combination of fresh fruit and veggies, nuts, seeds, pellets, and egg food.
Senegal parrots are quieter than most parrots except for the Red-bellied parrots, even though the Senegal can produce a loud screech now and then. Senegals love to mimic your sounds and to talk, but are more apt to mimic sounds rather than actual words. Noise from a Senegal parrot is rarely a problem making it a great bird companion for anyone that lives in an apartment, condo, or close living quarters.
Senegal parrots are known for being very playful birds. They are very comical and entertaining. Senegal parrots require a lot of toys, swings, etc. to keep them busy. They love to swing, climb, and hang upsidedown.
